June 23, 2007 was the first of what will hopefully become an annual event - the Marble Flame-Off at Carlisle School of Glass Art. The even was held in conjunction with the Wheaton Marble Weekend. This was the first "competition" I had ever participated in. Barry Laffler was the "flame master" and ruled over the competition. And, while this was a competition, the atmosphere was much more laid back. It was more of a feeling of working next to your friends than competiing with them. Here are pictures from the event.
